The Midway Distilling Company operated from 1916 to 1920 in Midway, KY, Kentucky’s first railroad town. Production was suspended due to wartime prohibition, which restricted the use of grains for food. Midway Distilling barrels were then bottled as medicinal spirits until 1924 when the distillery and its remaining inventory were destroyed by fire.
Lot 25 Release
Midway Lot 25, at West Railroad and Turner Street, was the original “distillery district” of Midway from 1865 to 1877. This period also marked the rise of American whiskey cocktails, many of which were made with sweet vermouth. Our bold Lot 25 Rye Whiskey achieves a refined finish and subtle warmth from several months in a repurposed vermouth barrel.
