MacNair’s Lum Reek 21-year-old is a marriage of Single Malts from Islay and Speyside – two of the most sought-after whisky regions in Scotland – combining both peated and unpeated spirit to create a perfectly balanced and complex malt. The recipe, concocted by industry veteran and Master Distiller/Blender of the Year, Billy Walker, includes aged GlenAllachie single malt.
The small-batch expression was matured to perfection at the GlenAllachie distillery in a combination of Oloroso sherry, red wine, and virgin oak casks expertly sourced from across the globe. The resulting whisky, offered without added colouring or chill-filtration, is brimming with dark chocolate, vanilla fudge, and cinnamon buns, all with gentle peat undertones.
Our 21-year-old has scooped a host of enviable awards including World’s Best Blended Malt (World Whiskies Awards, 2020), Best Blended Malt Scotch (San Francisco World Spirits Competition, 2021), and Master (Scotch Whisky Masters, 2021).
