We are proud to introduce Complicit, a collaboration between two convention-defying brands: The Prisoner and High West® Whiskey. Complicit is a new blend from the winemaking team behind your favorite red blend, partially aged in High West bourbon and rye barrels.
ABOUT THE WINE
The grapes for this wine were handpicked into half-ton bins and delivered to the winery in September 2021. The fruit was then gently destemmed and fermented on the skins for 21 days in stainless steel. The Sangiovese and Petite Sirah grapes were co-fermented in the same tank. After fermentation, free-run wine was removed and settled overnight before racking off heavy solids and preliminary bleeding. After the blends were made, the wine was then transferred into a mix of new and neutral wine barrels, and 29% used High West Bourbon barrels. The wine was aged for 12 months in barrels before bottling in September.
